WHAT WILL THE FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?
In the first session, you and I will begin making a connection. You should feel safe, accepted, respected, and relatively comfortable. I will start exactly where you are. Maybe that's discussing what brought you into therapy now, and what you would like to get out of our sessions together. Maybe that's helping you to work through weeks of pent up frustration or tears. Or maybe it's starting from the beginning, and discussing the childhood roots of your problems. I will also share with you what my procedures are to ensure that we have clarity around issues such as counseling time frame, payment, and honestly sharing your feelings. By the end of our first session, you should have a sense of hope, peace, and maybe even expectancy of our next meeting.
WHAT ARE NORMAL SESSIONS LIKE?
Each Session is approximately 60 minutes long. We will start each session with building rapport and working through the issues that are most pressing for you. Then, we will explore therapeutic strategies, coping techniques, etc, that will assist you in handling presenting problems. While sessions are guided by therapeutic approaches and supported by therapeutic techniques, each session is dependent largely on your needs at the current moment.
HOW MUCH IS THE COUNSELING INVESTMENT?
I require my clients to pay for the session prior to each meeting. The financial investment for your counseling is:
- $120 for 50 minute online/video therapy
- $100 for 50 minute phone therapy session
- $75 per week, e-mail coaching (Read more about email coaching below)
HOW DOES EMAIL COACHING WORK?
Coaching through Email is an effective, professional and affordable service. With email coaching you have more time to formulate questions to the coach and can take time to absorb the response. You develop a written record of your sessions so you can go back to it later to reinforce learning and personal growth.
While Email coaching is unlimited weekly, I will generally respond with detailed, therapeutic responses up to 3-times a day, Monday-Saturday. You can cancel anytime, and you will still have access to email coaching through the end of the paid-for week.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I do not participate in any insurance programs. However, if you have "out-of-network benefits" with your health insurance you may be able to get reimbursed for part of the cost of therapy.
WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?
All major credit/debit cards are accepted for payment and are due prior to the beginning of each session.
HOW DOES ONLINE/VIDEO COUNSELING WORK?
Online or video counseling is simple, convenient, and just as effective as in-person counseling. Video counseling can be done from your phone or computer, though I recommend using your computer for best quality. Our sessions are confidential and secure, and are done using a secure video site for medical professionals. You would simply click the "video counseling login" button below, click on the link provided, and you and I will be connected!
IS IT CONFIDENTIAL?
In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and psychotherapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client. However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule. Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. I am required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. I am required to notify the police.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself. I will make every effort to work with the client to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
Let’s face it, sometimes things come up. However, be sure to respect my time & your process by fulfilling your commitment to scheduled sessions. Please reschedule or cancel appointments with at least 24-hour notice and if emergencies take place on my end, I will do the same.
